Our history
Every country has its foundational myths.
Where myths does not mean what is idealized and false, but what is taken as a truth for the future. One of those truths is that industry has founded, in great part, the Uruguay of today, and companies like us, that have more than sixty years in the construction of Uruguay, feel part of that foundational myth.
We are three generations struggling for the quality of our products and services, and we want to pass the torch of a solid company and in continuous renovation to future generation.
Since our very first steps we are the leader company in extrusion for Uruguay. The city council of Montevideo approved our first pipes in the 50's, and our registered mark PLASTIDUCTO, identified by its three parallel stripes, has become the name for plastics pipe and a synonymous of quality and confidence.
In the late 70's we incorporated new types of pipes, - in high density polyethylene and large diameters - which permitted us to project to foreign markets. In this sense, you can find Uruguayan PLASTIDUCTO pipes installed in Ushuaia (South Argentina), Fortaleza (Northeast Brazil), Bolivia , Chile , Congo (Equatorial Africa) and the Uruguayan Antartic Base.
In 2003 we certified our Quality Management System according to ISO 9001 for the "Design, manufacture and trading of pipes, profiles and accessories of Polyethylene, Polypropylene and PVC".
In 2017 we moved our industrial plant and logistics department to a new establishment with more than 10.000 m2 covered area and a large outdoor storage area which allows us to continue growing with greater efficiency and competitiveness.
